Faculty of Arts Exchange Programme for 2026-27 [Main Round]
The Faculty encourages Arts students to participate in student exchange programmes during their course of study, with a view to widening their horizons and enriching their learning experience. The Faculty of Arts Exchange Programme (FAEP) aims at providing such opportunities for undergraduate students. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to study abroad in one of the host institutions in 2026-27.

(A) Application Guide
1. Eligibility
Year of study requirement: Currently non-final-year BA, BA(HDT), BA&BEd(LangEd) and BA&LLB students. Please note that BA&LLB students in their third year or above shall apply for exchange programmes organized by HKUWW or the Faculty of Law.
On another note, BA&BEd(LangEd) students are advised to participate in exchange only during their Year 3 Semester 2, in accordance with curriculum needs. BA&BEd(LangEd) students interested in participating in exchange in other study years shall contact the Faculty of Education for enquiry.
Students are strongly recommended to apply for both HKU Worldwide Undergraduate Student Exchange Programme (HKUWW) and FAEP, but should note that if a host institution is listed under both HKUWW and FAEP, Arts students should only choose this via FAEP, as such choice applied via HKUWW will not be processed.
In order to benefit more students, students who apply for both HKUWW and FAEP will only receive one offer. The result will be coordinated between the International Affairs Office (IAO) and the Faculty, and the priority will normally be given based upon your preference.
Basic English language requirement: A TOEFL (iBT) score of 80 or above; or an IELTS (Academic) overall score of 6.5 (Note: Some host institutions may have higher requirements.)
Students may be invited for an interview.

3. Procedures
i. Submit online application
ii. Submit a statement of purpose of approximately 300 - 500 words
iii. Prioritize 3 choices of exchange studies (host institution and exchange period) from a scroll-down list
iv. Upload supporting document(s) (e.g. IELTS result)
v. Confirm and submit the application (no amendments can be made after submission)
vi. Interview may be required
