Selected eligible HKUArts undergraduate students

Priority for the Premium Plan will be given to:

  • HKUArts undergraduate students who will take a credit-bearing internship course in the upcoming semester(s) in AY2026–27
  • Final-year HKUArts undergraduate students
  • Students on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability

All HKUArts undergraduate and taught postgraduate students are eligible for free access to the FirstResume Starter Plan.

HKUArts will sponsor selected eligible undergraduate students to access the FirstResume Premium Plan for enhanced career preparation support.

HKUArts Career Development Team

HKUArts Statutory Minimum Wage Exemption Forms (Work Experience Students) Request System

The Statutory Minimum Wage (SMW) rate is raised to $43.1 per hour with effect from 1 May 2026. The monthly monetary cap on the requirement for employers to record the total number of hours worked by employees is also raised to $17,600 per month in tandem with the implementation of the new SMW rate.

1. Student Interns

A student intern refers to a student whose internship:

  • forms a compulsory or elective component of their programme, e.g. a credit-bearing internship course;
  • has no age restriction; and
  • has no restriction on the duration of the internship.

Further Action Required: Students should contact the respective course coordinator or programme administrator HERE to endorse the exemption form for Student Interns.

 

2. Work Experience Students*

A work experience student refers to a student whose internship or work experience:

  • is not necessarily curriculum-related;
  • is undertaken by a student who is under the age of 26 at the beginning of the employment; and
  • is for a continuous period of up to 59 days as exempt student employment.
  • The student employee is required to make a statutory declaration to verify the above and provide the declaration, or a copy of it, to the employer.
