We are delighted to announce that two undergraduate students from the School of Chinese at HKU Faculty of Arts have achieved outstanding results in the 36th Chinese Poetry Writing Competition. Organised by the Hong Kong Public Libraries under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the HKSAR Government, the annual competition aims to promote proficiency in the Chinese language and appreciation of Chinese verse.

Shi Kam Lun (石錦麟) was named Champion in the Student Category, while Siu Yiu Fai (蕭曜徽) received a Special Award, standing out among more than 1,000 entries.

Shi is a Year 2 undergraduate pursuing double majors in Chinese Language and Literature and Chinese History and Culture. Siu recently graduated with First Class Honours, having completed double majors in Chinese Language and Literature and Global Creative Industries, together with a minor in Art History.

The award-winning works will be featured in a roving exhibition at 30 public libraries across Hong Kong from January to April 2027.

Once again, we offer our heartiest congratulations to Shi and Siu on their remarkable achievements!
