Modern East Asian Literature Research Cluster
Launched in 2021, the Modern East Asian Literature Research Cluster (MEAL) is dedicated to fostering collaboration and scholarly exchange among modern East Asian literature scholars within the Faculty of Arts at HKU. Our vision is to create a vibrant and inclusive space for intellectual conversations and cross-disciplinary engagement focused primarily on East Asian literature and cultural studies across different Schools, especially the School of Modern Languages and Cultures, the School of Chinese, the School of Humanities, and the Society of Fellows. The cluster regularly hosts book talks, brown bag seminars, and workshops tailored to the shared interests of its members.
