Through the Tunnel with Fruit Chan

As part of its University Artists Scheme, the Faculty of Arts at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is hosting a talk with award-winning filmmaker Fruit Chan tomorrow (February 17, Tuesday).  During the talk, which is moderated by Dr Mirana M Szeto of the HKU Department of Comparative Literature, Chan will discuss his most recent film, The Midnight After, which has been nominated for eight awards at the 34th Hong Kong Film Awards. The Midnight After was named Best Film and Chan Best Director at the 21st Hong Kong Film Critics Society Awards in January 2015.

Six highly respected artists from the disciplines of Film, Music, Literature and the Visual Arts have been appointed as University Artists for 2014 - 2016. The six artists are filmmaker Fruit Chan; Hong Kong film industry pioneer John Sham; award-winning cellist Trey Lee; acclaimed poet Henri Cole; and the directors of the groundbreaking art and technology partnership Artstation, Glenn Davidson and Anne Hayes. The University Artists Scheme is hosted by the Faculty of Arts and is generously supported by Dr Alice Lam.
