Student KE Project Grant Scheme 2013/14: Call for Applications

6 June 2013 (Thursday)

Dear Arts Students,

Knowledge Exchange (KE), together with Teaching and Research, form the three pillars that underpin all the activities of The University of Hong Kong (HKU). The University defines KE as engaging, for mutual benefit, with business, government or the public to generate, acquire, apply and make accessible the knowledge needed to enhance material, human, social, cultural and environmental well-being.

The Student KE Project Grant Scheme was introduced in 2011/12 and we are now inviting applications for 2013/14. The aims of this Grant are to promote a culture of contributing to society through applying the knowledge that you have gained at HKU, nurture a spirit of innovation, and promote engagement with external organizations.

About the Student KE Project Grant Scheme:
1) The Scheme is open to all currently enrolled full-time students of the University, including undergraduate, research postgraduate and taught postgraduate students.
2) Each team must have a minimum number of three students, including the team leader.
3) Each project must have a mentor, who may be an academic or academic-related staff member of the University.
4) The proposed project must have the support of a non-academic partner organization outside the University who will match the University’s contribution in cash or in kind.
5) The grant to a project will normally not exceed HK$20,000 unless the project has the potential to make significant impact on the target non-academic sector.
6) The project must commence upon confirmation of the grant award (around October 2013) and be completed by June 30, 2014.

Deadline for submission of the application form to the Arts Faculty Office, Rm 405, 4/F, Run Run Shaw Tower, Centennial Campus, is Friday, August 2, 2013.
