The International Competition for Chinese Orchestral Composition (SICCOC) aims to promote musical creativity, stimulate international awareness and establish a repertoire of Nanyang- and/or Singapore-inspired Chinese orchestral pieces. This year’s Competition attracted renowned composers from Mainland China and Taiwan. Fourteen finalists were shortlisted for the competition, and Mr Fung was among six finalists competing for the Composition Award. This is the first time a Hong Kong composer has won the Composition Award 1st Prize at this Competition.
