Second Century Lecture Series Lecture by Sarah Howe - Identity and Displacement: My Journey as a Poet was held in the evening on November 8, 2016 at Rayson Huang Theatre, The University of Hong Kong. In January of this year Hong Kong-born British poet Sarah Howe followed in the footsteps of literary greats, including Seamus Heaney and Ted Hughes, by winning the T.S. Eliot Prize for Poetry. Her winning debut collection, Loop of Jade, is an ambitious exploration of her dual Anglo-Chinese heritage, drawing on themes of identity and displacement. The Second Century Lecture Series aims to maintain the momentum of the University's Centenary celebrations by bringing distinguished scholars in their field to share their experience and world-class expertise with the University and the public. This Second Century Lecture is jointly organised by the Faculty of Arts and the Hong Kong International Literary Festival.
